Welcome to The Cardiovascular Care Group
New Jersey’s Best Choice for Vascular Expertise
The Cardiovascular Care Group (TCVCG) was formed in 1963 as The Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgical Group when the practices of Franklyn P. Gerard, MD, FACS and Adrian M. Sabety, MD, FACS were joined. Established as one of the first professional corporation in the State of New Jersey, “The Group” has represented a dedication to provide the highest level of quality care to those patients with Vascular or Thoracic disease for over 55 years. During this time, the practice has consistently expanded to include a group of high quality physicians from the top training programs in the country.
The Group’s original location was in East Orange, New Jersey and at that time, Dr. Gerard and Dr. Sabety were on the medical staff of East Orange General Hospital, Orange Memorial Hospital, Mountainside Hospital, Rahway Hospital, Clara Maass Medical Center, Saint Barnabas Hospital and Saint Mary’s Hospital. In 1985, the primary office location was moved to Belleville and as more physicians joined, coverage was expanded to include Essex, Hudson and Union counties and an office was established in Westfield. Currently, there are office locations in Westfield, Hoboken, Clifton, Morristown, Shrewsbury, and Newark.
In 2002, The Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgical Group changed its name to The Cardiovascular Care Group, to more accurately reflect the focus and activities of the practice. The Group has continued to focus on total cardiovascular care and concentrate on the importance of caring for the complete patient. Nutritional counseling and lipid management (cholesterol and triglycerides) are some of the primary concerns for the physicians and nutritionists here at TCVCG
Complete patient care and management, requires that TCVCG maintain an active Noninvasive Vascular Laboratory for our patients. Currently under the direction of Melitza Torres, RVT and Kathleen Petrillo, RVT, the laboratory was established in 1967 by Dr. Sabety and performs in excess of 3,000 noninvasive vascular examinations annually. Since 1993, the Laboratory has been fully accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories demonstrating its commitment to quality and excellence.
Since its inception in 1963, The Group has maintained the highest level of quality care for its patients. All physicians are board certified and continue to advance their medical education while here at TCVCG. Physician availability is guaranteed and all of our patients are welcomed into a caring and compassionate environment where cutting edge technology is combined with good, solid, medical care.
The Cardiovascular Care Group has six (6) convenient office locations throughout New Jersey. If you have any questions regarding our practice specialties, hospital affiliations, insurance & billing or you just have a general question about the practice, please do not hesitate to contact us.
